 During Lent, as Catholics, we prepare for Easter with prayer, sacrifice and by doing good works. Holy Childhood Association's Lenten Appeal offers our children the opportunity to pray for the children of the missions and encourages them to make sacrifices which contribute to this good work. Lent 2004: This year we will be assisting the children of India. India is a large nation that has many people in need. More than one third of the population of over one billion people, are currently in need of some food relief. Many children have been diagnosed with acute malnutrition. Our support will make a tremendous difference in the lives of so many. Additional material will be available about the children in India prior to Lent.
